Solar Power

Solar power refers to energy that is collected from sunlight. Solar energy can be captured in many ways. Many people are under the common misconception that solar energy can only work in conditions of bright sunshine and high temperatures and is therefore unsuited to the Dublin climate - this is not true. With recent advances in solar technology, solar panels can make a very significant contribution to the household energy supply. Solar power is clean, efficient and does not harm the atmosphere. Dublin does not need any more harmful green house gases and that is why solar power should be installed in as many Dublin homes as possible. One problem with solar power is that there are high set-up costs upfront in producing the equipment for solar power. To help offset this, the government is offering a generous grant to households who have solar panels installed in their homes. The solar power market is still relatively new, but with the increasing signs of global warming, we can expect to see more and more consumers turning to green sources in the coming years, and there will off course be more and more companies developing to supply the ever increasing demand.
